Second International Female Comedy Night

By popular demand, join us for a second International Women's Comedy Night at The Nine - Belgium's first female-focused members' club. It's the perfect venue to bring together an all-female line-up of comedians for an evening of fun and laughter.

Come and see the best rising female comedians on the comedy circuit!With the comedy world known to be masculine and most well-known comedians being male, we thought it was about time for an all-female line-up.

Expect to be entertained and inspired by some seriously funny women!

Comedians

Your host and MC for the evening will be Kym Nelson, Script Writer, Performer and Stand-up Comedian. She has studied with the UK's leading comedy coach, Jill Edwards, and the French master clown and professor of theatre, Philippe Gaulier. She performs in London, Brussels and the Netherlands, including at the iconic 'Boom Chicago' in Amsterdam.

She recently scripted and performed her first comedy play at the Camden Fringe and her one-woman show at the Museum of Comedy. She also teaches confidence-building workshops using techniques in stand-up comedy! Instagram: kym_mindatplay

Niamh Moroney

Niamh has been a funny person since 2015 when she started touring with her one-woman theatre show YER WAN. Her Edinburgh debut PULLED, a theatrical comedy spectacular, resulted in a sell-out run and four-star reviews with the Edinburgh Cultural Review calling the show “comedic chaos”. She recently headlined the United Nations of Comedy event at the BOOM CHICAGO comedy festival in Amsterdam. Her Irish sense of humor is not for the faint of heart.

Pearl

Pearl is a songwriter, bassist, and performance poet who, like Cher and Madonna, prefers to be known just by her first name. She debuted her two-woman show “The Bride Who Shagged Me” in the cabaret tent at Glastonbury Festival and then toured it around the spoken word clubs of London. A surreal, heady mix of poetry, slapstick and shocking musical jingles tells the story of a desperate runaway bride without a plan.

Helen Johnson

Helen’s first gig was the day she was born. Her mother, the late, great Dr Johnson, who was studying medicine at the time, gathered an audience of 12 medical students for this performance! After that, Helen has not been shy about coming forward and is just as loud off stage as on. As part of her act, Helen gives tips on how to become “erotically refreshed”.

Tamar Levi

Being Cornish, Jewish and Alaskan, Tamar Levi has much to unpack! She accidentally fell in love with the hairiest Greek she could find, and they ended up taste-testing all the Belgian chocolate on hand in Brussels. With thoughtful and surreal observational comedy, she performs comedy with a light touch and a feminist edge.

Delia Tou

Wants to be known as a female idiot who manages to laugh at her shameful origins and boring sex life.

Sally Porter

Former dominatrix spills the beans on her time working in the industry. From Members of Parliament to bricklayers, from mishaps to mayhem, she tells the tales of the antics that she and her clients were up to in the realms of BDSM.

Laurien Vereecken

She has spent most of her life being single and exploiting her eclectic love life on her blog, which started her overwhelming urge to start stand-up comedy. Oh, and now she has a girlfriend!

Ake van der Velden

She is about to debut as a stand-up comedian, having attended our MC, Kym Nelson’s workshop on ‘How to be a stand-up comedian’ in two hours! Ake does improv theatre, so she’s not new to being on stage. When Ake is not on stage, you can find her working her magic behind a camera.

Singer, JoBee Project

JoBee is a singer, songwriter, composer, vocal trainer, founder of the legendary Supafly Collective – the first female hip hop crew in Belgium, an activist for women in music and culture, and radio presenter at Radio Bruzz in Brussels where she has lived and worked for 15 years. She has participated in The Voice of Poland and Must Be the Music and toured throughout Europe. She has just launched her third album.
