How do I become a Member?

Applicants are evaluated based on their commitment to our values of being authentic, curious, and uplifting. We welcome applications from individuals who identity as female or non-binary, above the age of 18.

We ask all applicants to fill out the short online application form. Once completed, you will be invited for an interview, before acceptance. No payment is taken before confirmation.

What are the different membership rates?

We offer three membership rates:

Standard - open to applicants 35 years of age or older at time of application;
NGO/Non-profit - open to applicants working for an NGO/non-profit at the time of application; and
Young Member - open to applicants under 35 years of age at the time of application.

There is a one-time initiation fee due for all memberships. All fees exclude VAT.
The initial membership rate is calculated pro rata. Memberships that start from September are pro-rated for the ongoing year in addition to the membership fee for the following year.
Subsequently, membership fees are due annually in January of each year.

What is the initiation fee?

The initiation fee is a one-time charge issued upon membership confirmation. All future membership renewals do not include this charge.

Can Members bring guests to the Club?

Absolutely! Members are welcome to bring up to three guests at any one time, over the age of 18, subject to Member-only events.

Are men welcome?

Men are very welcome in the Club as guests.

What is the Club's food & drink policy?

Meals and drinks can be ordered from the bar and restaurant. Complimentary self-serving coffee, tea, and water facilities are available on the upper floors. Food and drink brought in from elsewhere is not permitted in the Club.

How can I pay in the Club?

The Nine is completely cashless; Members are able to pay using their membership card, bancontact, and/or all major credit cards. Guests are welcome to use bancontact/credit cards during their visit.

Do I have to pay for events?

We offer a number of complimentary events for our Members. However, for selected special events, there may be a fee for Members and guests.

Can I bring my children?

Children under one are welcome during the day. We offer comfortable breastfeeding zones as well as baby changing facilities.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the Club, except during private garden events. In this instance we ask Members to contact the Front Desk in advance; info@thenine.be.

Can I smoke in the Club?

Smoking is not permitted inside the Club. And we ask Members who wish to smoke outside to be mindful of others around them.

Can I hire the space for a private event?

Yes, multiple spaces at The Nine are available for private hire, including on weekends.

Is there parking at the Club?

We do not have private parking. For selected events a voiturier service will be provided.

What are the opening hours?

Monday - Friday: 9h - 22h.
Saturday - Sunday: Closed, except for private events
The clubhouse is closed for two weeks at Christmas and three weeks over summer.

Does The Nine have step-free access?

Unfortunately, The Nine is a listed building and the original entryway does not allow for step-free access.

How do I reserve at the bar or restaurant?

Please reserve your table using our online booking form or by email at info@thenine.be. Members enjoy a 10% discount on the à la carte menu

What is the restaurant cancellation policy?

For tables of less than six: Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the time of reservation. For tables of six and above: Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the time of reservation. Unhonoured commitments and no-shows: a compensation of 25€/guest will be charged.
