Women of Comedy @ The Nine

19/04/2024 - From 19h00 - Public

The third International Women's Comedy Night at The Nine, and we are excited to welcome three seriously established and very funny women!

Comedians

Your host and MC for the evening will be Kym Nelson, Script Writer, Performer and Stand-up Comedian. She has studied with the UK's leading comedy coach, Jill Edwards, and the French master clown and professor of theatre, Philippe Gaulier. She performs in London, Brussels and the Netherlands, including at the iconic 'Boom Chicago' in Amsterdam.

She recently scripted and performed her first comedy play at the Camden Fringe and her one-woman show at the Museum of Comedy. She also teaches confidence-building workshops using techniques in stand-up comedy! Instagram: kym_mindatplay.

Alina Sharipova

Alina Sharipova is an Amsterdam-based comedian with an immigrant background who seamlessly combines her post-Soviet roots from Uzbekistan with her Western upbringing in Belgium. In her debut stand-up comedy show, That Funny Feeling, Alina fearlessly delves into the complexities of her immigrant upbringing, wrestles with her self-esteem, and recounts her experiences in a relationship with a Dutchman. In 2022, she was recognised as One to Watch by Funny Women, solidifying her status as a promising talent. Alina’s talent has even caught the attention of renowned comedians such as Taylor Tomlinson, Nate Bargatze, Ari Shaffir, TJ Miller, and Jared Freid, who have invited her to open their shows.

Ghieslaine Guardiola

When actor and singer Ghieslaine Guardiola went to New York to do stand-up for the first time, the winds of change blew her straight into the Gotham Comedy Club's New Talent Showcase. That unexpected dream kick-off pushed Ghieslaine to get even more serious about her comedy and her career in laughter. She started performing throughout Europe and currently performs, hosts, and produces comedy shows in New York City.

Nira Tal

Nira is a comedian known for her understated delivery and wry takes on life. She’s an Israel-native, 40-something mother and wife. In 2018, she turned to comedy as part of her midlife crisis and discover that mediocrity is also an art form. She performed in several comedy festivals in Europe, including the Mad Goat Comedy Festival, Boom Chicago Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She is a regular comedian at Comedy Club Haug in Rotterdam.
