Belgium also has one of the largest carbon footprints in the EU, producing the equivalent of 9.7 metric tons of CO₂ per capita.

The target reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to less than 2 tonnes of CO₂e per person per year is necessary, to reach net-zero in 2050 is necessary.

That means that we need to divide by 6 our emissions.
