Mastering the Art of Discussion Moderation
09/10/2024 - From 19h30 to 21h - Members & GuestsRegistration mandatory
Brussels runs on events, and every good event can become great with the help of an engaging moderator.
Whether you are a public figure, part of a company that routinely hosts panel discussions, or a freelancer looking to add moderation to your income sources, this workshop is for you.
The skills that make a good moderator can also be used when conducting a discussion during a meeting at work, making sure you have time to talk about the points on the day’s agenda. Good moderating skills can help anyone.
As Brussels runs on panel discussions, we will go through specific tips for facilitating an engaging discussion — but we will also touch on other forms of event hosting, such as being a master of ceremonies.
We will cover:
- The before - how to prepare for an event, through research, touching base with your speakers and making sure everything is in place
- The event - how to move smoothly from one speaker to the other, making sure everyone has the chance to shine and get their point across
- Combining public speaking tips with conversation flow strategies, for anyone who wants to start moderating panels or hosting events in another capacity (as master of ceremonies, for instance)
When signing up, you will be asked to complete a form and send us your questions. That way, we can tailor the workshop to your specific needs and questions.
