How to Navigate a Male-Dominated Workplace

In a workplace which is already male dominated and is likely to become even more so in the coming year, how can women navigate the challenges this presents to their happiness and satisfaction at work, career development and leadership prospects?

We have already seen calls from influential tech billionaires to bring more "masculine energy" (!) and for the rejection of feminisation (or "neutering") of the workplace. With these and other burgeoning regressive influences, we are likely to see an increasing focus in company workplace cultures on:

• Long hours worked and presence in the office
• Male oriented performance criteria and leadership attributes
• Workplace environments where men feel enabled to disrespect their female colleagues (and anyone who is different to them) and microaggressions against women increase.

The Nine believes we urgently need to address how women and marginalised people can navigate this environment. In this event we explore the context of the male dominated workplace and explore strategies to thrive in this environment.
