Idealists Quarterly: Wellness is Political | Community Event
06/05/2026 - From 18h to 21h - Public
When did wellness become a luxury for the privileged? Why are collective nervous system regulation tools gatekept? And why is no one talking about the "global exhaustion gap", where people who face systemic oppression daily are paying the price with their health, their wealth and their exhaustion?
Join us for a collective immersive wellness experience, lightning talks and conversations with great people.
We will use the power of collective nervous system regulation to revitalise you and deepen your connection with the people around you.
When we share an activity with other people, and we do so with our full attention, some fascinating things happen:
Our heart rates synchronise. We literally begin pulsating in the same rhythm.
Our brain waves synchronise. Meaning: the electrical signals in our brains oscillate at the same rhythm.
Our bodies release more oxytocin, which is the hormone that brings us together and induces feelings of safety, wellness and joy.
This all increases our capacity for collaboration, innovation and joint problem solving.
On 6th May, 6-9pm at the next Idealists Quarterly event at The Nine, you will be able to experience this synchronisation - and all its delicious effects - through an immersive collective nervous system regulation experience.
