Social media is one of the few places where you can forget everything you were taught about formal writing. It’s direct. It’s conversational. It’s about saying what you mean and writing in a way that lets your personality and professional expertise shine through.

You learn by doing. So expect discussion and hands-on activities to help you:

This session is for anyone who wants to write social media posts with more confidence, personality and purpose, whether you’re growing a business, working in communications or simply want to raise your profile online.

We’ll mostly focus on LinkedIn, but the techniques apply wherever you post online.

About the facilitator

Jen is a senior nonprofit professional turned writer and communications specialist. With 15 years’ experience behind me, I combine strategy with content development to help nonprofits, agencies, companies and global institutions communicate their work with clarity.

Much of this work focuses on health and social impact, but this is not exclusive. Over the years, I’ve delivered on a wide range of projects, including social media campaigns, event communications, corporate positioning and award-winning advocacy work. A budding author, my writing has also been published in leading academic journals, including BMC Nursing and BMJ Global Health.
